Hearst is planning for Kindle killer?

It’s been reported that the Hearst Tower, New York City based Hearst Corporation is planning for Kindle killer. According to a report, the media conglomerate Hearst is planning to launch its wireless electronic reader that will let users view the publisher's newspapers and magazines.

The Fortune magazine reported on Friday that Hearst is planning to bring out an e-reader with a large-format screen this year. Hearst’s wireless electronic reader would be sized big enough for the layout and advertising requirements of newspapers and magazines.

Now, Analysts are viewing Hearst’s electronic reader as the potential rival of Amazon's best-selling consumer electronics, Kindle.

According to analysts, Hearst, which has witnessed its revenue surging, is experimenting to set up new business around its planned wireless electronic reader. Hearst is planning to enter into the e-reader market seeing the brilliant success of Amazon’s Kindle.

"This is absolutely the kind of thing they have to be doing – experimenting. There are no set answers anymore," Michael McGuire, an analyst within Gartner's media consulting business, said of Hearst's e-reader.

Hearst executives, however, declined to comment on the reports about its wireless electronic reader. So, we’ll have to wait to see what Hearst brings out.
