Reports from the state officials suggested that a medical clinic has been shut down after there were orders from the government to stop x-ray examination and other tests without doctors’ referrals.

Warren Smith who is the manager of the Department of Health’s hazardous material office in Colorado has said on Monday that Heart Check America’s Denver branch has been shut down completely.

This company has violated all the state regulations and law and has been practicing and was doing imaging of heart, lungs, bone, and other scans without proper referrals from the doctors and physicians. These reports were also not read by proper and qualified radiologists and communicated to the patients.

"We do not feel a whole body scan is an appropriate screening tool for an asymptomatic patient", the agency said in a letter to Heart Check, ordering them to cease the practice.

According to the state laws, a scan can only be performed if referred by the doctor; otherwise it is an act of violation. The state health authorities have disconnected the main telephone number of this organization and have ordered to shut down.

A probe is going on against this health centre and all the scan results are being discussed upon.
