Verdict Awaited on Indiana Parenthood Case

Planned Parenthood of Indiana is said to take care of the cost of treating Medicaid patients this coming week, after a state law had cut the Medicaid funds of health-care provider on Wednesday. They were also said to be battling the case in the federal court, in terms of the constitutionality of the law.

The judge handling the case has been waited upon to decide if the law will continue to thrive while the case is still on, or it’s going to be put on hold.

The planned parenthood has stopped taking Medicaid patients, as officials have stated that they are not certain if they have the required capacity to cater for Medicaid patients in the interim However, the private donation will be allocated to them to cover their expenses, at least until the 21st of May.

They are able to do this, owing to the major financial support they get from donations across the country, though they have stated that the help will not be permanent as they cannot sustain it. The health providers are said to be expecting $1.3 million in public funds.

Moreover, the Medicaid patients have been reported to have expressed confusion and concerns regarding the possibility of them receiving necessary health services, amidst the recent upraising.
