Future has posted a 45% fall in pre-tax profits in the six months to the end of March. Future publishes magazines for computer games, cycling and photography fans. The officials of the Future said that the market is through challenges at them, with revenues falling by 4% year to £68m. Future profit is partially from online sales and majorly from circulation. And it is for the first time when its digital operation is making a profit for the first time.
Its revenue from circulation accounts for more than half of the company’s total income. However, its circulation income has fallen 7% and its advertising revenue is down by 4% where as its revenue was 30% higher last year.
The company’s official said that although Future has procured losses, its online sale have brought relief. The online advertising is said to have exceeded the decline in print advertising. The company has reported that its online advertisement growth will be witness 44% growth year-on-year.
Future group is hoping the coming year will prove profitable. Although the market conditions are challenging and will be remaining so, Future Group is confident of maximizing its profits in next year.
