It just shows the anxiety and eagerness of Apple fans to see the new updated iMacs and Mac minis! On Monday, another rumor surfaced that Apple may roll out the updated iMacs and Mac minis on Tuesday, ahead of the bruited March 24 special media event, which was rumored on Sunday.
Since Sunday several blogs on several sites have reported that Apple will soon be bringing out the new updated models of its iMacs and Mac minis, Apple's two desktop products. The recent reports that Apple may do it on Tuesday came from HardMac.com, French Mac-enthusiast site MacBidouille, and the Dutch site OneMoreThing.nl.
HardMac.com yesterday reported that Apple may unveil two Mac mini models and four iMac models on Tuesday. According to the site, the machines will use Intel Core 2 Duo processors and NVIDIA 9400M chipsets. The low-end iMac will feature a 20" display and the higher-end models will have 24" displays.
The French site MacBidouille reported “four new iMac models, with MB417 representing the 20-inch entry-level system featuring a 2.66GHz Core 2 Duo CPU and 2GB of RAM, while MB418 and MB419 designate the mid-range 24-inch systems with options for 2.66GHz or 2.93GHz Core 2 Duo processors and 4GB of RAM, and MB420 references the high-end 24-inch model with a 3.06GHz Core 2 Duo CPU and 4GB of RAM”.
MacBidouille claimed that the entry-level Mac mini will carry a product number of MB463 and offer a 2GHz Core 2 Duo processor and 1GB of RAM, while the high-end Mini, with a yet-unknown Core 2 Duo processor, will be labeled MB 464.
The Dutch site OneMoreThing.nl reportedly displayed a photo showing the retail packaging for a Mac mini and features matching an earlier photo leak and video. The device features five USB ports, a Mini DisplayPort and a FireWire 800 port.
Apple has not yet officially reacted to the rumors, which is probably strengthening the rumors. It’s little surprising, why Apple is officially mum on the issue. Well, the rumors do not seem to be baseless; where there is smoke, there certainly is fire!
