Viewers Easily Relate Themselves to Characters of “Sex And The City”

The HBO series Sex and the City spectators find a change in themselves after watching it. The series had encouraged them to indulge in conversation about sex-related issues with their partners, friends and doctors.

As per the researchers from Ohio State University, after watching an episode of Sex and the City, college going students were interested in discussing about it with their partners than the ones who saw different episodes. The characters of the series Samantha and Miranda seem to have thrown a strong impact on viewers through their acting skills and interesting conversations.

"One of the powerful things about entertainment programming is that it can get people talking about important issues that they might not otherwise talk about", said Emily Moyer-Gusé, Assistant Professor of communication lead Author of the study at Ohio State University .

The viewers were able to empathy the emotions of the characters, their feelings very easily. The show had made a strong impact on the lives of viewers as very comfortably they were able to relate themselves to the characters of the show. The show was popular with girls, but even men did not seem to be deprived of the similar effect.
