AMA Announcing Dr. James Madara as Its New CEO

Dr. James Madara, a former University of Chicago Medical School Dean and Chief Executive had qualified to take the leadership of the country’s largest doctor’s group on July 1 while the American Medical Association had announced his name as new Chief Executive Officer.

Further, Mr. Madara will be justifying the designation of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Vice President, simultaneously. Before joining the University of Chicago, he had served as a pathologist and gastroenterologist and chaired the department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta in the year of 2002.

He had attributed his position in a tough environment where a panel of 10 physician members interviewed various applicants and promoted Dr. Madara to the AMA Board of Trustees, notified a speaker of the AMA House of Delegates and Chairman of the search committee, Jeremy A. Lazarus.

Dr. Madara had claimed that the AMA is a strong association that is aimed to voice for physicians and their interests while pin pointed some delayed decisions on Medicare physician payment as well as federal guidelines for considerable care organizations.

"One needs to be upfront in shaping that change and making sure it improves patient care and in helping physicians adapt and thrive fiscally in our country”, said Dr. James Madara.
