The controversy surrounding Ryan’s health plan seems to be never-ending in the political spectrum. The proposal allows a ceiling on Medicare and Medicaid programs. Even though the proposal was equally opposed by Senate, experts are of the opinion that Ryan’s proposal would still be considered as a strong point in the Republican agenda.
The US health care system seems to have entangled in the mesh of misinformation and free market propaganda, which inhibits the growth and development of the sector.
As per reports, almost 17% of the gross domestic product spending is consumed by US health care sector, and with this strong backing, the electoral agenda of large number of elected representatives would be running around health care sector only.
Moreover, any increase in the stipulated subsidy to Medicare beneficiaries would be highly dependent on the financial condition of the US economy and further, on the inflation rate at that particular moment.
Apparently, Ryan has offered nothing major in terms of how to improve health care access, quality and cost effectiveness, though Democratic Party’s Affordable Care Act at least tried to address the persistent concerns engraved in the system.
