Ukraine is one of those countries which are highly infected with AIDS. It is further more saddening that the country is not doing much to curb the lethal disease from the country.

It has been revealed that the number of HIV patients in Ukraine has been increasing significantly. It is told that every day, about 60 people are infected with HIV and out of them, 10 are kids. Although the number of AIDS cases is high in the country, the government has found a way to restrict the transmission of the virus to the unborn baby.

It has emerged that the prevention measures have reduced the spread of virus being transmitted to babies by 33%. However, the use of contaminated injection is on the high. And state is doing almost nothing in eliminating the heinous practice. It has emerged that the country has not kept aside any amount which could be utilized in AIDS reduction programs.

Furthermore, it has been revealed that those who encourage use of these programs are stalled by political leaders. It has come to light that NGOs, public health workers, patients are regularly being harassed by law enforcement agencies. Ukraine’s HIV patients are in a sorry state as they are made to die of the disease rather than provided of treatment.
