Microsoft may remove Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7

The reports are hot that software maker Microsoft may uninstall its Internet Explorer 8 from Windows 7. According to reports, Microsoft may remove its Internet Explorer 8 from the latest version of its Windows 7, build 7048.

The Microsoft blog AeroXperience's chief editor, Bryant Zadegan stated that IE8 was part of Windows 7 Beta 1, but the possibility is quite high that it may not be part of the Windows 7 Release Candidate, which is expected to arrive in April.

According to testers who have used the recent builds, in recent Windows 7 test versions, Microsoft has introduced an option to turn off the Internet Explorer 8 Web browser.

Chris Holmes elaborated that Windows 7's build 7048 includes Internet Explorer that can be turned on or off through a "Windows Features" dialog box. However, IE8 is not listed among the features, which can be turned on and off in the Windows 7 Release Candidate.

However, Microsoft declined to comment on the move, which could pacify European Commission, which has levied the fine of $2.5 billion against the software giant to date, for illegally tying its Internet Explorer Web browser with its Windows Operating Systems.
