You will be able to catch the Palm Treo Pro on the market on March 15! Yesterday Sprint Nextel announced that it will release Palm Treo Pro on 15 March, with a two-year contract.
With the release of Palm Treo Pro, the Sunnyvale, California based smartphone manufacturer, Palm is looking to compete with the BlackBerry manufacturer Research In Motion.
The March 4 statement from Palm stated, "The Palm Treo Pro is designed with the enterprise professional's full life in mind, which means a mix of enterprise and lifestyle features, as well as the reliability and manageability IT departments require."
According to Palm, the Palm Treo Pro features a 2.5-inch, 320x320-pixel resolution touch screen, a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth, and a 2-megapixel camera. It is a Windows Mobile 6.1 device, with integrated GPS. The Palm Treo Pro will work with Sprint Navigation for real-time turn-by-turn directions.
Sprint announced that the Palm Treo Pro will be available online and in retail stores, on the release date, for $199.99, which includes rebates and an Everything Plan with data or $30 per month or higher data plan. The Palm Treo Pro will also be available through Palm on March 16.
Sprint also announced that on Thursday, March 12 it will co-host a Webcast focusing on Palm Pre. The webcast will feature a demo by Fared Adib, vice president of Sprint Device Operations & Logistics, and Matt Crowley, product line manager at Palm. The webcast will highlight three key differentiators that make the Pre a "standout in the smartphone device category."
According to Sprint, the Webcast will begin at 11 a. m. Pacific on March 12; it will include 20 minutes scheduled for the presentation and 20 minutes for questions and answers.
