Fertile Women More Likely to Misjudge Male Strangers: Study
Fertile Women

A study conducted by Michigan State University has revealed that fertile women are more likely to misjudge male strangers. The study was conducted over 252 female university students from the Caucasian and black background. For the study, these women were asked to look at the photos of men’s. They were also asked to judge men on the basis of their body.

Their study found that fertile women were less tolerant of the men they perceived as being muscular if the men were of a different race than their own. Moreover, it was found that during their menstrual cycle they become more biased.

It has been found by the researchers that when it comes to becoming a mother, women are keener in choosing their partners on the basis of male’s looks. McDonald, a fourth-year PhD student who was also part of the study, said, “Compared to men, women have lots of constraints on their ability to produce a lot of offspring. There's nine months of pregnancy and they're generally infertile while they are breastfeeding”.

She added that women while choosing their partner protect themselves from those who are potential of threatening their reproductive choices. The recent study is not of its first kind. Previously as well there has been a study but it was not based on race like the new study. The previous study revealed that women while choosing their partner are biased against aggressive or physical strange men, including but not specifically those of other skin colors or race.
