You will surely be able to enjoy "The Beatles: Rock Band" in September. Yes, the much awaited Harmonix Music Systems' music video game will be released on September 9.
In a joint press release titled "The Beatles: Rock Band", worldwide release set for 9/9/09" on Thursday March 5, Apple Corps Ltd., MTV Games, and Harmonix Music Systems stated that the music video game "The Beatles: Rock Band will be available simultaneously worldwide in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and other territories on September 9.
Harmonix Music Systems is the developer of the music video game, which will be published by MTV Games and distributed by Electronic Arts.
According to the press release, the music video game "The Beatles: Rock Band" will celebrate the music and artistry of The Beatles, a rock and pop band comprised of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). The band was formed in 1960 in Liverpool, England.
The press release stated that the music video game "The Beatles: Rock Band," featuring the songs from The Beatles, from their first album Please Please Me, to their penultimate album Abbey Road, will be available for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Nintendo Wii for about $60.
The The Beatles: Rock Band will be available in three different retail packages - first, $60 standalone version that will be compatible with all previously released guitars and drums. Second, $100 guitar bundle, and Third, $250 "Limited Edition Premium Bundle," which will come with instruments modeled after the ones the fabulous four originally used. Rock Band bundles have previously sold for $170 and $190 for Rock Band 1 and 2, respectively.
