Doctors of Cebu Planning to Celebrate World Hepatitis Day

The doctors of Cebu city will be celebrating the World Hepatitis Day on July 28, in order to emphasize that the disease has become a serious issue around the globe. As per a statistic, hepatitis led to 1 million deaths per year. The doctors will spread the awareness among people notifying how deadly the disease is.

The Cebu Gastroenterology (GI) Group, in collaboration with the Hepatology Society of the Philippines, will be celebrating the day by organizing a number of events. The organizers were planning to introduce liver clinics on July 28, at various important hospitals in the region. The patients with liver problems were appointed to get their health checkups done on those clinics.

The Cebu GI Group will be organizing a `fun run' on August 7 with the message of "Run for your Liver... You're Liver, Your Life". The race will start from Chong Hua Medical Arts Building parking lot at 5:30 a. m., P300 will be the registration fee in the 3Km, 6Km or 12Km categories.

US President Barack Obama had organized an intensive information drive, which provided all information about the disease like its symptoms, its medication, precautionary measures and its consequences. The prime minister concentrated on the Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders, because of frequent occurrence of the disease among the people of these communities.
