Los Angeles  - Dakota Fanning will star in the second installment of the popular Twilight vampire series, People magazine reported Saturday.

The 15-year-old will play Jane, a sinister vampire with a sweet face, in the film New Moon.

Director Chris Weitz is set to begin filming in Vancouver, Canada at the end of the month and the movie is expected in theatres in November.

The first movie in the series was a hit in theatres and among fans of the popular books by Stephenie Meyer. (dpa)
