According to latest reports, Health Ministry of London would make alterations in the way they allocate money in the health sector, which would result in more allocation of money in posh areas than poor areas.
The report, made by the Commons Health Select Committee, clearly indicated that poor health rate in less developed areas would not get consideration from the Ministry, and urban parts like Surrey and Hampshire would be benefitted. Among the areas that would lose would be Manchester, Liverpool, Co Durham and Tower Hamlets in East London.
According to Labor, millions of pounds of vital NHS funding have been diverted from the poorest parts of the country to the wealthiest.
But, Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has dismissed the argument and told that the government would not take any money away from the deprived areas of England. In an interview with BBC, Lansley said, “We are not taking money away from any part of England. We are increasing the budget for the health service and not just overall in real terms, but increasing it in each PCT of the country”.
The average increase in each PCT would be 3%, with .5% increase from last year. Shadow Health Minister, Diane Abbott also supported the government, and told that they have a responsible government, which has concern for the health of poor people, and it would not take money away from inner city areas.
