Malaria Terror Continues in Greece

According to reports, giving a wakeup call for all the travelers, holidaymakers' agency, recently claimed that all the tourists travelling to Greece should immediately cancel their holiday plans, as the health authorities have freshly declared that six more people were stuck by the deadly malaria outbreak.

However, the Country's health experts claimed that since June, five Greek adults and a Roma child have already been suffering from the deadly fever caused after the mosquitoes bites, as a result of which, they have been continuously warning the nation's residents to protect themselves against mosquito bites.

Meanwhile, according to the Health Protection Agency (HPA) the health reports, people who had no history of travel to a country where malaria was not so common, too suffered from the malaria fevers, getting the timely immunization became the need of the hour.

In the meantime, in order to spread quick awareness about the outburst among doctors and the general public, in the unaffected areas, the Greek authorities have stepped up malaria surveillance and they were continuously organizing local mosquito control programs.

On the other hand, Dr. Jane Jones, a travel health expert at the HPA, said, "It is important that travelers returning from affected areas seek medical advice promptly if they experience symptoms of malaria, which include fever, headache and muscle pains".
