Apple may preview iPhone OS 3.0 software at a special event on March 17

The iPhone software 3.0 will be previewed to the gathering of select number of invited reporters and journalists at an invite-only event that Apple will organize at its Cupertino, California based headquarter.

Apple has reportedly announced the event to offer preview of the version 3.0 of the iPhone OS, and to provide new information about the new software developers kit. The company has sent invitations to selected tech diarists to cover the event.

According to reports, the invite-only event is scheduled for 10 a. m. Pacific Time on March 17. It is set to give the media a "sneak peek" at the iPhone OS 3.0 software. It will be a town-hall format meeting. It will be similar to past event, where Apple unveiled the iPhone OS 2.0.
