Global Cholera Concern

Cholera is a disease that kills about 10 people daily in Haiti. This is the reason there is strong need to curb the disease with effective vaccination. It was revealed that a mere 5% of the most vulnerable areas in Haiti for cholera are vaccinated for the disease. According to an estimate, the outbreak of the disease could be put off from the place if 30% of the people got vaccinated against it. It is an infectious disease and vaccination could help in controlling the infection levels as well.

"There are compelling reasons to add vaccinations to the arsenal of public health weapons that have been deployed against cholera in Haiti", a newspaper from Washington quoted.

The cholera bug flourishes in tropical conditions and feeds on phytoplankton. The reason for the recent outbreak of this disease in different s parts of the world might be global warming, as the sea surface temperatures have seen a rise and the world climate has shown a shift in the recent past. It is essential that vaccine is registered to maximum number of people so that the death toll due to the disease can be brought down and health can be restored.

It is essential that the efforts are made from the health authorities of the world in order to eradicate the disease and benefit the health structure of the world.
