Australian digital media innovators embark upon Manhattan

Last week, the Australian Trade Commission and the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association (MIA) helped seven of Australia's games developers and an assortment of digital media technology companies embark upon Manhattan, with the aim of presenting their respective products to a faction of ad agency executives and publishers.

For the small yet effervescent group of funds-starved Australian digital media innovators, the New York market is apparently a safer bet, particularly with the plunging Aussie dollar amid the deepening economic crisis. Since they have a domestic market of merely 21 million, the digital media technology start-ups are trying to explore export sales early on.

The noteworthy achievements of related to Australian companies recent US trip included - Media Equation signing its first distribution deal in the US; and MIA International CEO Richard Mergler expressing the desire to open a New York office.

Other companies that put forth their respective products comprised the following: Front Foot Media Solutions boasting about its high-transaction mobile websites; QMCODES displaying its platform for print advertisers to generate revenue from quick response (QR) codes; TheBroth showing interactive jigsaw puzzles to attract visitors for longer time-spans; Soap Creative exhibiting casual and branded game platforms for diverse companies; and MCM Entertainment showing off an analytics package for tracking consumers' communications with online content in real time!
