Recent developments have revealed that Pop Queen Kylie Minogue has been awarded an honorary degree by the Anglia Ruskin University. This was in a ceremony held in Chelmsford. She is one of the selected 12 people to be awarded this honor.

She was wearing the traditional graduation outfit and addressed the 220 graduated students of the college. She was also here for the promotion of awareness of breast cancer and its prevention methods.

She has been indulged in a number of breast awareness campaigns because she is herself a fighter and a winner against the disease.

"When you are diagnosed yourself it becomes a lot more real and you appreciate at first hand the hard work that goes on to support patients through it”, she said to the students.

It was in the year 2005 that she was diagnosed of breast cancer and she underwent treatment and chemotherapy for the same.

It was revealed by Professor Michael Thorne from the Anglia Ruskin University that these special honorary awards were made for the individuals who have great talent in their field and have contributing exceptionally well in their fields.

They are now going to act as great examples to the students who shall make it a point to follow these idols.
