Los Angeles  - Zac Efron, star of teen hit High School Musical is determined to shed his squeaky-clean image.

For the cover of the latest issue of Interview magazine, a mud- covered Efron, 21, posed with a naked woman and said he was determined to shake up his career.

"You know, everything I've done in the past has felt very safe, and it was great for a while, but now I'm looking for a place to take chances," Efron told Milk director Gus Van Sant in the magazine. "Most of the directors I'd want to work with don't even know who I am. Their daughters might." (dpa)
