Chevrolet to Unveil Aveo in 2012

In a much anticipated step, Chevrolet has uncovered its next offering an all-new Aveo. Touted to be a bit different, the maker does not want it to be compared with any of its competitors in the ‘supermini’ segment.

“Instead, we’ve delivered a car that’s striking, bold and has attitude”, said Chevrolet's Mark Terry, while making an official announcement that the car would be unveiled in the UK by the end of January 2012.

Styled in the way of Chevrolet's other models like the Camaro and Corvette, Aveo is being equipped with unique round headlamps and further, the interiors are enhanced with a dual-cockpit. The first look of the car could make car lovers swoon over it.

Equipped with central locking, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, electric front windows and a CD player, an LS model is backed by a 1.2-litre engine with 84bhp. However, if anyone wants to go for the next LT model, it offers air-con, steering wheel-mounted controls, Bluetooth and a trip computer.

Still, one can pick the top-end LTZ model which has an added leather steering wheel, front fog lamps, rear parking sensors and automatic headlamps. At the time of launch, range of engines would be offered i. e. a 1.2-litre petrol engine giving 86PS, 1.4-litre petrol version giving 101PS, two 1.3-litre diesel engines with 75PS or 95PS output.

While about the pricing, the company confirmed that the basic LS model would be priced at £9,995, for LT model, one would have to shell out £10,995, and LTZ models would start its pricing from £12,195.
