Lenovo Attains Second Position in PC Business

Two research organizations have ranked Lenovo Group Ltd. as second best computer developer in the world.

Accepting the ranking, the Chief Executive of the Company, Yang Yuanqing stated that the Company will make further advancements in this sector. The firms Gartner Inc. and International Data Corp also witnessed rise in sales of computers worldwide in the third quarter of the year, beyond the level of estimates made by the firm.

The Company observed change in demand of the customers, who were running after mobile phones have suddenly drifted towards laptops and desktops. Lenovo is keen to use its power to hold its position in the market. Lenovo has surpassed Dell in the level of performance and grabbed the second position in the market, as per the results of the study conducted by data maintainers IDC and Gartner.

According to Mr. Yang, the Company is taking this rank as a motivation to perform even better and attain the topmost position in the global market. At presently, Hewlett-Packard Co.’s has bagged the first position by outracing others in sale of the PC.

According to the survey doers, Lenovo has managed to attain the position after increasing their exports to the market of Japan and European nations. Also, the Company took hold of German-based PC manufacturing company, Medion AG, after a payment of €465 million.  The earlier deals commenced with Japanese PC maker NEC Corp came to an end this year after paying an amount of $175 million in the form of shares.
