Dell has unveiled its latest offering - a sleek, high-price luxury notebook line Adamo! Somewhat of a cross between Apple's MacBook Air and HP's Voodoo Envy 133, Dell spokespersons claim it to be the "thinnest" laptop, with a 0.65 inches-thick, four-pound frame.
The ultra-portable notebook is an aluminum-clad machine, packaged in a modish case, with noteworthy overall specifications. The only hitch is probably its high cost - $1,999 at its lowest - compared to the much more economical netbooks.
Available in two colors - Pearl and Onyx - the chic Adamo has a 13.4-inch, 1386-by-768-pixel display; an inbuilt 1.3 megapixel webcam and microphone; and LED-backlit flat panel with true 16:9 HD proportions. The Adamo keyboard is essentially a full-scale one, with rather large-looking keys and backlit characters.
Among other specs of the Adamo are - a 1.2GHz or a 1.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor with a Centrino chipset; and either 2GB or 4GB of DDR3 RAM, with 128GB SSD internal drive option. Networking comprises draft-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and gigabit ethernet; along with a 3G "mobile broadband" as an add-on alternative.
Fitted with Windows Vista Home Premium; corresponding high-end TUMI bags and sleeves; the external drive options; different editions of Microsoft Office; and quite a few "premium service" options, the Adamo perceptibly is a high-priced package!
