According to a new study, it has been revealed that cell phones might not be casting a risk of breast cancer to people. This has been reveaed according to a study conducted on as many as 358403 cell phone users in Denmark for a period of 17 years.
It was revealed that people who used cell phones were at no more a risk of contracting cancer that people who did not use phones. It was revealed by Patrizia Frei, from the Danish Cancer Society's Institute of Cancer Epidemiology, that the cellular level did not show any sort of changes due to the carcinogen. The vivo and vitro studies also haven't shown substantial changes in themselves.
The study gave its results a few months after the WHO released a statement claiming that cell phones might be posing threat to the health of people and might be causing cancer.
"Frei and colleagues' results may seem reassuring, but they must be put into the context of the 15 or so previous studies on mobile telephones and cancer", revealed Maria Feychting and Anders Ahlbom from the Karolina Environmental Medicine Institute from Stockholm.
They further added that though most of the studies being conducted in this regard have shown negative results, there might be a few exceptions. This is why the risk of contracting cancer through usage of cell phones cannot be ruled out totally.
There have been many debates conducted on this matter in the recent times and people are divided into two groups, one that believes there is a cancer risk, and one that thinks otherwise. It s a matter of time before it can be established which group has a better point to prove here, and whether or not being on the phone for long hours will harm one's health.
