Singapore's Health Promotion Board launches health app

Singapore's Health Promotion Board (HPB) has announced the launch of a health app that aims to encourage people to adopt healthy lifestyle habits.

The free app, tailored particularly for Singaporeans, has been named the Interactive Diet & Activity Tracker or iDAT. Taking the Asian body types and working lifestyle in Singapore into account, the new app allows users to gauge their calories and manage their health.

The app has been launched as a part of the National Healthy Lifestyle Campaign that was launched by Deputy PM Teo Chee Hean at the Sengkang Community Club earlier this year.

The HPB has an aim to attract more than 10,000 new health ambassadors, who will advocate healthy lifestyle and encourage others to integrate healthy habits in their daily lives.

The campaign has already roped in around 1,000 health ambassadors in Singapore.

Those health ambassadors will be given training and equipped with essential information on how to live healthily. They will then use their knowledge spread healthy lifestyle tips in their families, friends-circles, colleagues and neighbours.
