Recent reports are of the view that the Gold Coast United should make it a point to evoke the sort of spark they had in themselves, if they have to register a win against the New Castle tomorrow. There is need for them to bring back the vigour and poise which made them the strongest side on the A-League.
The United has a record of as many as 43 shots, after merely three rounds. The coach for the team, Mr. Miron Bleiberg is of the view that no matter what critics might have to say, his side has done better than last year and has become more competitive and ready for the final show.
It's actually the defense of the team that needs to be strengthened before other teams can bring them down easily. They had sustained as many as 8 rounds last year, without a goal. This year however is different, and there have already been five goals made against the team. This is one key area the team needs to work on.
"It is quite strange to be in this position because we have prided ourselves in the last couple of years on keeping a lot of clean sheets", said Captain Michael Thwaite.
He further defended the team and was of the view that they had started off well, and shall continue to work hard in the time to come. He said there is a lot of pressure on the minds of the players and this might see to take a toll on their performances. They have only two points right now and this has called for better play and sure shot action to stabilize the team's position.
It's a matter of time to see what the next few games turn out to be like, before the final verdict is to be given on the team's performance.
