In order to make its position safe in smartphone category, Microsoft has opted for a novel method in which it has made 6-feet smartphone replica in New York City's Herald Square.
Purely a promotional stunt, the interactive window phone structure is getting lots of public attention. For many people, its USP is its positioning. It has been placed few steps away from the world's largest Macy's Store and near the picnic areas of the place.
Through its promotion, Microsoft has tried to promote its three novel Windows Phone devices and those being Samsung Focus S, Focus Flash and HTC Radar 4G. As a smart move, the company has also set up their camps near the promotional place, so if people feel interested, they could come to them to inquire about the product.
It has been a crucial year for Microsoft as for last year; it has been struggling to make its place in the mobile phone industry. And till that time it could have started walking on its feet, Google came in the playing field to give Microsoft a stiff competition.
Microsoft’s Windows Phone division Head, Andy Lees was of the view that at the end of the year they have sold out more devices than Google’s Android. Indeed, it has been seen that Microsoft is not leaving any stone unturned to make its position stronger in the industry.
It has also tied with Nokia to increase its Windows Phone sales.
Recently, it has been in the news for its royal payment license agreements but it was not something for which it was appreciated for. Experts were of the view that it could be a way to strengthen their position in the market as they are well aware of the fact that they are quite strong when it comes to Android system.
