It has been reported that the US state Department is looking forward for more information regarding potential alternative measures within the state of Nebraska for the forecasted Keystone XL pipeline project.

On Thursday, the State Department claimed about its determination for taking possession of an in-depth evaluation of latent alternative routes in Nebraska, with a focus on several concerns about the environmental sensitivities that are believed to have an association with the existing proposed route following the Sand Hills area of the central United States.

Under spell of the National Interest Determination process, the State Department organized a public comment period, including public conferences in the regions of Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Washington, D. C., six highlighted states for the pass of pipeline. The meets were organized with a focus of taking opinions from the public as well regarding the insurance of Presidential Permit in an environment where some believe that it is in national interest whereas others oppose it.

Besides public, the department has also considered opinion of the state, local as well as tribal officials. Consequently, the authorities have acknowledged an array of comments on several issues ranging from the impact of forecasted project on jobs to pipeline safety, health concerns, and the societal impact of the project, the oil extraction in Canada. Further, sources have confirmed that the majority of people have raised concerns over the suggested route through the Sand Hills area of Nebraska.

“If Keystone XL dies, Americans will still wake up the next morning and continue to import 10 million barrels of oil from repressive nations, without the benefit of thousands of jobs and long-term energy security”, commented the President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
