Gigantic Baby Born Out of Normal Delivery!

While the name ‘jihad’ might send jitters in minds of many, mother of 14 kids named her 5.9 kg baby boy as Jihad. It has been reported that the woman has not gone for C-section either and delivered the huge kid though normal delivery on Wednesday at Berlin's Charite hospital.

Despite being told to go for C-section, the 40 years old mother went for normal operation and gave birth to her 14th child. It is being believed that the actual reason for the huge size of the baby is the log running problem of gestational diabetes in the mother. The woman is reported to have consumed too much of sweet despite knowing that she has been suffering with diabetes.

The baby is told to born as obese as the weight is more than the permissible limit of 4kg. It is being believed that women must go for cesarean section in case babies have weight more than .5 kilos (about 10 pounds).

The woman had high blood sugar level that’s why she has born a baby with 5.9kg weight. This is not for the first time that the mother had faced this as four of her kids were born with weights heavier than 5kg earlier too.

“When a mother has gestational diabetes, her fetus is exposed to very high levels of glucose, and to compensate, the fetus releases lots of insulin. Insulin stimulates the baby to store the glucose as fat, increasing the baby’s birth weight”, said Dr. Alison Stuebe, Assistant Professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Though the mother and the baby got saved, there were fair chances of risk to both. Such babies are told to be at an escalated risk of diabetes, obesity and some types of cancer later in life.
