Research in Motion (RIM) has recently announced launch of its security software. While launching the device, RIM said that it has worked for years to create the software. The software thus created has been given the name BlackBerry Mobile Fusion.
While explaining the usability of the software, RIM marketing person said, “We are pleased to introduce BlackBerry Mobile Fusion - RIM's next generation enterprise mobility solution - to make it easier for our business and government customers to manage the diversity of devices in their operations today”.
RIM was encouraged to introduce the software by the change in the trend of using official handsets. It has come to light that many employees are using their own handsets instead of using the recommended handsets by their employers.
The software induced in the mobile set would allow the firms to lock the unwanted hardware and will also allow them to control the software and applications remotely. The software at present is being tested. The details about it would be made public next year in the month of March.
It has been informed that the software will work best upon Android based phones and iPhone. RIM has announced that next year, the software will be launched for use which will allow entrepreneur to set and monitor rules for passwords, apps and software on a range of devices.
Moreover, the software will allow the company to lock a stolen device, which means that the device will not be used by a third person. For past many years, RIM's BlackBerry has been favorite device for the businessmen, distributers and government agencies. However, in the recent time, a shift has been witnessed. Many employees have shifted to iPhone to access official emails, which has raised question over the security.
