It has been recently revealed that the hit social networking site Facebook has made a couple of mistakes in terms of privacy issues of its users.
It has been recently revealed when Facebook settled with the US Federal Trade Commission the charges that they have not been able to keep the information of their clients totally safe, and has even been deceptive in its approach towards revealing details to the people about its actions.
The statement released by the FTC is of the view that it shall keep the users’ information to them, but they have been repetitively involved in publishing it and making it public.
The FTC has told Facebook they need to change their plan of action as well as given them requisites for making a settlement. They further added that the firm has been warned that the innovation of the site shouldn’t hamper the security needs of people, and that the FTC shall make sure it doesn’t happen.
This has come after a number of complaints received by the FTC against Facebook. They have been making promises they weren’t able to keeping the past and this is a huge matter of concern for the people. They can’t be sure that their information, which might be private, isn’t displayed to the entire world. There is need for tightening the loopholes of the security system of this site and ensure that the functions of the site run normally, but without hampering the needs and requirements of the users.
“I think we have a good history of providing transparency and control over who can see your information. That said, I'm the first to admit that we've made a bunch of mistakes," said Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO and co-founder of Facebook.
