The U. S. Postal Service has made it clear that if they witnessed any further bankruptcy, then they have full plans to close as much as 250 postal centers across the country. They are already facing $3 billion debt and further more is not in their plan list.
They have decided the centers, which they would close across the country and maximum centers are placed at Essex Junction and White River Junction. But both the places are quiet important, so there is a great possibility that they would continue one and most probably it would be Essex Junction.
Experts believe it is not the right way to deal with the problem as further job cuts would enhance the effect of recession. There is no doubt that Postal Services had to face lots of losses, but sacking out 100,000 people from their job is no solution to the problem.
Cuts would slow down the delivery of first-class mail as well as stamped letters deliveries. There is great possibility that next-day delivery of stamped letters service would be removed for indefinite time period.
The postal Centre needs to think about the problem with open mind as closing centers would mean increasing the problem by double folds. If centers would be closed then distant centers would be merged up which means letter has to pass through distant centers before reaching to the right address.
This would put an end to first-class delivery standards that were in place since 1971. The Huffington Post stated that main affected would first calls mails and periodicals as formers deadline to reach to addressee is within two days, but with these changes it would take more than three days.
Periodicals would take at least nine days to reach. Congress has been asked to help them financially but till now they have not got any response.
