Google proudly announced that they have crossed ten billion application download mark in Android Market and soon they would also be able to cross one billion in a month.
Eric Chu, Google's Director of Android developer ecosystem, thanked all the Android users across the globe and was of the view that crossing 10 billion marks is a big thing. Achieving such a success has made them dream that soon they would also be able to attain one billion download applications as well and that too in a month.
This is the reason that they have cut the price of applications for more than half. Now, with few pennies, one would be able to download some of the great applications such as Asphalt 6 HD, Color & Draw for Kids, Sketchbook Mobile, Soundhound Infinity and Great Little War Game.
Prices have been declined with the permission of developers and others who were involved in their making. Chu said it is very important for them to take developers along with in every decision as they are the ones who do the real work. Every development in terms of applications is their brain child. They are the one who push the wall and amaze them and the world with novel applications.
This celebration would continue for complete 10 days in which people would not only be able to access old applications for some pennies, but even new ones which would created by them.
Chu said, "One billion is a pretty big number by any measurement. However, when it's describing the speed at which something is growing, it's simply amazing”.
After getting across Google news, Apple also announced that they have crossed 15 billion downloads. It seems indirect competition is going on. But there is one difference here as Apple said they get more benefit from iOS than from Android.
