Facebook Launches Timeline Application In NZ

Facebook Product Manager Sam Lessin, while announcing new Facebook application Timeline in New Zealand, affirmed that they have introduced this application firstly in this country because it is ‘an English-speaking country’.

Nowhere else in the world this application has been launched. Lessin said they have no idea that when they would introduce this application in other countries and it would not be wrong to say that they are taking it as a sample test for other countries.

Timeline is an interesting feature which gives users freedom to create profile, as he wants and manage it accordingly. Not only this, new feature would enable them to have bigger profile picture as now users gets small space to fit in their pictures.

This new feature would also help users to highlight the content, they want to. For example if he is quite interested in photography and is also great photographer then he could highlight it through this novel feature.

Accordingly, one can manage their panel and could expand or constrict it. Like if one has interest in music then he could increase the size of music panel as well could display it prominently.

One could also control the number of posts other could see from users account. Timeline gives great controlling power as through personal settings, one could control which page friends and family could see when they visit other’s personal account.

If one wasn’t to hide some content but for temporary period then one could set time limit and if one would visit account then they would not be able to see content for specific time period.

For long time, Facebook was being criticized for lack of privacy and less control power, but it seems with this application, they would be able to satisfy users, but for now only New Zealanders.
