OnLive gaming service has revealed that it has developed application controls, called `vPad', through which its game subscribers would be able to play games by connecting set-top box either to TV or to smartphone/tablets.
This wireless controller would be available at the price of £39.99 in which, users would get an option to have a touchscreen interface. But, it would not be applicable to LA Noire and would continue to be directed through original developers, and would also use the accelerometer.
It is a big development for tablets which do not support built-in processing power. With this application, the tablets and phones would be able to have a wide range of console games.
Games have become an important application in both, tablets as well as mobile phones. Users of both the technologies love to have new and advanced games in their phone, whether they like to play games or not but they insist to have it in their mobile phone applications.
There is one negative point about this new application and that being that when connection speed gets too slow, its graphic quality starts degrading. This happens to make sure that games continue even in slow-speed, but it spoils the quality.
This application would be freely available to those who have smartphones and tablets, and they get connected through Wifi and 4G LTE. In total, 25 games would be also available which have been especially designed for touch-screen devices like iPhone and Android devices.
Steve Perlman, OnLive Founder and CEO said, "Today marks a major milestone: OnLive is now delivering the latest, console-class, top-tier games - literally to your fingertips - on tablets and phones for instant, on-demand play anywhere, anytime".
