Market research firm NPD Group Inc. has revealed that there is an improvement in the sale of video games in comparison to last year. This year’s November has seen 15% growth, amounting to $1.67 billion, in the sale of video games.

Another novel factor that witnessed by the research firm NPD Group Inc. was that interesting titles encourage people more. More interesting and adventurous are the titles, more people are keen to buy that series.
Michael Pachter, an analyst with Wedbush Securities, was of the view that it has happened for the first time in the last three years that the sales have been so robust. The major rise has been seen in console games and that was the reason that Modern Warfare 3 grossed over $400 million within 24 hours of its launch. It sales majorly took place in the US and UK.
Pachter said, “This kills two misperceptions about the industry. The first is that console games are dead. The second is that mobile and social games killed console games”.
Analysts said it is a good sign as they were expecting a cut in the hardcore games due to economic downturn. In some places, it has been seen that its prices have gone down and most probable reason of it is thought to be financial cuts.
If video gaming industry has to thank someone for its robust sales then it should be none other than Modern Warfare 3. In the US, it has sold 6.5 million copies. Though some say it is a repeated version of Modern Warfare 2, it could not resist users from playing it.
