Vietnam in the Grip of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

It has been informed by the health officials of Vietnam that this year about 156 people have succumbed to death due to Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. It has further been informed that about 96,000 people, especially children, have been reported of being affected with hand, foot and mouth disease.

However, as compared to September, there has been a reduction in the number of cases. In September, about 3,000 people were reported of having such diseases. However in November, about 2,460 cases were reported.

Following information from the health officials of Vietnam, the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has issued warning for the travelers visiting Vietnam. The US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention has urged people to maintain proper personal hygiene.

This year, it seems like the Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease has taken a aggressive turn as this year, about 156 people have reported of died because of the disease while in 2008, about 20 people were reported of succumbing to death.

It has been informed that a person affected with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease may show red rashes over the skin.
