Sony continues to be the target of mishaps. This time, the latest device from the company has become the victim.
The big queue of gamers actually lined up on Saturday morning to enjoy the features of the newly-introduced device of the company, called PS Vita. But soon after the start, the gamers started complaining problems with the touchscreen of the device and its system getting freeze again and again. For the time being, Sony immediately issued a software update and controlled the situation. Has that effort apparently anticipated all the glitches that aroused that moment?
Unfortunately, Sony is witnessing a very bad year, as it was earlier severely hit by the Japanese tsunami, then a crippling hacking attack on the PlayStation Network ruined the remaining hopes. Reports have confirmed that the firm has predicted an annual loss of more than $1bn this year.
Sony has high hopes that the new PS Vita (the follow-up to the PSP handheld) will give the company and its sales a good boost in 2012. The new device will be introduced in Britain in February. The basic price tag set for the device is around £229.99 for the basic model of the device.
Though no sales figures have been released from Sony yet, the company has kept its fingers crossed that the figures can provided the much needed of 700,000, enabling the company to cope the strong demand in the market.
“I’m so happy to see so many people lining up for PS Vita so early in the morning”, Mr. Hiroshi Kono, president of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan, wrote on his blog. “I can tell they had anxiously waited for today’s launch”.
