Beware Of Industrial Silicone!

It has been reported that women who opted for breast implant in France will be asked to get them removed as the government has highlighted potential risk to their health. Those women who had their breast implanted through industrial silicon, Poly Implant Prothese, are said to be at the greater risk.

A formal announcement regarding the matter would be made this week by the government. In France, breast implant surgeries have become a business as a number of clinics have been found guilty of using cheaper silicone.

Last year, the southern French company was closed down as it was found guilty of using cheaper industrial silicone, which is used for electronics and computer parts. These implants, performed by using unauthentic and cheaper silicone, puts the life of a woman at risk as it has higher chances of being bursting.

It has been informed that about 30,000 women in France has already been implanted with industrial silicone and 40,000 women of Britain have also been operated with faulty silicone. In France about 2,000 women have filed complain to police against the clinics for offering cheaper industrial silicone.

Following the complaints by a number of women, the Valérie Pécresse, budget minister and government spokeswoman said that an action will be taken against the clinics which are found guilty of using cheaper industrial silicone. She had been reported as saying, “All women who have PIP implants should return to see their surgeons urgently," she said, adding that these women could "potentially be in danger”.

Laurent Lantieri, a leading French plastic surgeon, also expressed concern over the use of cheaper silicone. Laurent Lantieri has urged to take immediate action to stop the clinics from following the unhealthy practice of putting lives of patients in danger.
