Vitamin E Helps in Repairing the Tearing of Plasma Membrane, Say Researchers

Recently, the researchers of Georgia Health Sciences University have showed that the usage of Vitamin E could help in repairing the tearing plasma membrane. Plasma membrane often gets affected by one's daily activities.

Vitamin E is normally used by the people to build up endurance and to reduce the ageing signs. It is for the very first time when the researchers have informed that Vitamin E could be a good source for repairing the tearing plasma membrane.

Diabetics often complains of tearing of weaken muscles. It is hoped that through the findings of the researchers, the muscles could be repaired. It has been informed that Vitamin E helps in various ways. It works as an antioxidant, by removing oxygen from the damaged areas which has to be repaired.

Besides, it also helps in maintaining phospholipids which further helps in repairing the damaged muscles. The findings of the researchers have been published in the journal Nature Communications. The senior author of the study was reported as saying, "When a skeletal muscle cell suffers a tear in its outermost surface, it will die if it doesn't repair that tear very quickly. Vitamin E - by a mechanism we don't understand yet at the molecular level, certainly - is promoting that repair process".

It is hoped that soon the findings of the researchers is used as a medical treatment for treating broken or damaged muscles. Often, people consumer a number of Vitamin tablets without even knowing their pros and cons on our body.

The findings of the study would not only help in finding a cure for tearing of plasma membrane but will also help in understanding the roles played by Vitamin in improving our health and body's working. Vitamin E is one of the common prescribed Vitamins.
