Yahoo's former COO and Quadrangle Group partner since 2007 - Dan Rosensweig is all set to take over as president and CEO of the "Guitar Hero" franchise of the Santa Monica, California based video game developer and publisher, Activision Blizzard - said the reports by the most authentic sources, on Sunday.

According to the reports, the video game developer and publisher, Activision Blizzard will officially announce the name of Dan Rosensweig for the CEO and President of its Guitar Hero franchise, on Monday.

Dan Rosensweig has handled a variety of senior sales and publishing jobs for 18 years at Ziff-Davis. He was CEO of ZDNet, before it was acquired by CNET Networks in 2000. He was chief operating officer at Yahoo during the Terry Semel regime. He left Yahoo and joined Quadrangle Group in 2007.

Rosensweig knows the present Activision Chairman and CEO Bobby Kotick, since he was Yahoo's COO, as Kotick served on Yahoo's board at that time. Rosensweig's departure will be the second high-profile departure from Quadrangle, as the founder of the New York based investment firm, Steve Rattner left the firm at the end of February to join the Obama administration.
