Interpol Hunting Butcher Who Is Behind Faulty Silicon Breast Implants

It got revealed that a man whom Interpol is searching in the case of making faulty breast implants is none other than a butcher who faces a very serious driving offence. Jean-Claude Mas, 72, was a butcher till 1991, but he left that business to open a French Lab to sell breast implants made of industrial silicon.

Costa Rica detectives revealed that he also faces three year imprisonment for drinking and driving offence in 2010. But before he could be sent for trials, he escaped and now they are searching for him. His Poly Implant Prothese lab became the world's third biggest implant firm, but rather than using medical silicon, he used industrial silicon posing a great threat to women.

The detectives said that he has committed a huge blunder, but till now they have no clue of him. A plastic surgeon in Paris, Patrick Baraf said that he knew a bit about Mas. He was a butcher, but in 1991 he set up his laboratory in Toulon, French City.

Irrespective of the great revenue, he did not use authorized silicon gel. This led to the high rupture rates in his sold implants. In 2010, his lab was shut down by police officers, but they could not track him. Interpol has put up his sketch on their website so people could give them any information about him.

Health experts have revealed that there could be serious consequences of that silicone as it could even melt or burst. This has led the French Government to provide free medical services so women who have undergone the treatment could get it removed.

The Government's Chief Medical Officer, Dame Sally Davies, said that their announcement is to make them sure that they are with them. But there is nothing much to worry and affirmed, "Women with PIP implants should not be unduly worried. We have no evidence of a link to cancer or an increased risk of rupture".
