As per recent reports, it has been revealed that in excess of 100 individuals were rushed to hospital in the capital of Argentina, some due to severe burns and injured eyes, following incidents during which they were badly hurt while enjoying fireworks during Christmas.
Earlier on Sunday, the reports were confirmed by medical officials, claiming, “We had a 20% increase over last year, with 57 patients admitted with severe eye injuries”.
A large number of medical experts at Santa Lucia Eye Hospital, under the guidance of the Head of Emergency Care, Dr. Fernando Pellegrino were busy providing treatment to those suffering from burns and injuries.
As per reports, the Buenos Aires Burn Hospital treated almost 27 patients suffering from burns sustained by them due to firecrackers and fireworks used by them during celebrations of the Christmas carnival in the largest city of Argentina, as per reports provided by Miriam Minho, a health care official from the hospital.
She further claimed that in the majority of cases, burns and injuries sustained by people were between minor to fairly moderate. However, they claimed that an eight-year-old boy received heavy injuries and burns while he was enjoying Christmas through fireworks. Medical authorities have claimed that the boy is going through critical life support at the moment in the intensive care unit, after facing burns and injuries on almost 38% of his body.
In addition, in excess of 20 kids, counting an eight-month-old infant, were harmed by firecrackers. All of them received minor to major injuries and burns.
Also, one man lost his life while in excess of 200 were heavily injured due to slapdash usage of fireworks while celebrating Christmas in Argentina. The reports have been confirmed by the Health Ministry of Argentina. In a similar incident, a 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital in the Granadero Baigorria following a ruthless incident during which a firecracker detonated in his mouth, though doctors were not able to save his life.
