Synthetic Marijuana Users Increasing in US Military, Officials Alarmed
Synthetic-Marijuana

With suspicions that the US troops have majorly got involved in using synthetic marijuana and that the action can severely affect the safety of the country, military officials have urgently launched an aggressive testing program to find out who all are at fault.

The rumors are pointing that a large number of military personnel have started opting for an easy-to-get herbal mix called Spice, with higher marijuana content, and the news has severely troubles the officials as the substance can bring on hallucinations that can last for several days, thereby making it a big issue of concerns among the Pentagon Brass.

The news of abuse of the substance has prompted the officials to launch an aggressive testing program. Reports have confirmed that the program has been held with only one aim to investigate all the 1,100 users that are being suspected by the officials for the abuse.

The bad news is that the synthetic marijuana is easily available through the Internet, which has made this pot reached many of its new user’s hands but news of its use among troops and sailors is nothing less than a big worry for the officials.

“You can just imagine the work that we do in a military environment”, said Mark Ridley, deputy director of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, and adding: “you need to be in your right mind when you do a job. That's why the Navy has always taken a zero tolerance policy toward drugs”.

The official further added about the increase in the number of the users who have been found this year for using the substance. Earlier, the figure was 29 but this year’s figures are demanding higher concerns as the number has topped to 700 approximately.
