Crackpipes Supply Less Than Demand

It has been recently been revealed that the supply of the crackpipes are falling short, and the demand is much more than what is currently being served. It was revealed by two partner firms that they are currently unable to meet the demands of the people.

It was revealed by Hugh Lampkin, from the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users that there was an acute shortage of waiting queues at the E. Hastings Street office.

They had initially cut down the supply rate by half, in order to utilize and make the stocks last for a longer time. It was further added that they are currently distributing 50 pipes a day. As for the Portland Hotel Society, they haven't reduced their daily distribution limits for now and the necessities by them are being given to the refugee camp, where no matter how much supply is made, the demand is always more.

It was revealed by him that there is need for more stock that they were being supplied till now, and that the 3000 pipes that were received from the VCH in the month of December were easily consumed in merely 3 days.

"At the beginning of the study, we expressed our concerns that (the pipe supply) is a tiny number . but we were told the number's staying the same," "To meet the demand we would need around 1,000 per day", said Townsend.

There are some people coming back to purchase new pipes every day, which is causing shortage and the others are having to use second hand ones or have to reuse their own, or they have to share it with others.
