CO poisoning kills 11 girls in China

ChinaBEIJING, Dec. 2 -- Eleven Chinese school girls in northwest Shaanxi Province died of carbon monoxide poisoning and another was in serious condition, officials said Tuesday.

The students were exposed to the gas while making a fire to stay warm in their room at the Duiziliang Secondary School in Yulin City, Xinhua reported.

The incident was under investigation.(UPI)
