Mexican Women Having PIP Breast Implants Must Get Themselves Checked

In a recent report, it has been found that all those Mexican women who have got breast implants done from the now-defunct company Poly Implant Prothese (PIP) would be soon given the desired level of medical attention. This is being done after it came to notice of the authorities concerned that the company has been using industrial grade instead of medical grade silicone in some of its implants. There is need to put a check on such practices which could do harm to women.

The company had huge market across Europe and Latin America countries and this is what has made the company face sharp criticism from one and all. However, there is no report of any serious case as such in concern to the suspected implants.

Despite assurances, there are reports that indicate that women must consult a doctor for getting them checked for any suspected damage. It has been known that a French woman had died because of the same factor and that is what made the French government in December sent warning signals in the society, thereby claiming that there would have to be steps taken in the same regard to ensure that no women is left under the risk of cancer.

It was told by the association treasurer, Alfonso Vallarta, that the company had been selling PIP implants at $450 a pair, which was half of that of the rival products. "These people had no scruples and sold two-for-one”, added Alfonso Vallarta, who is heading the campaign for safe plastic surgery.

A major portion of the PIP implant surgeries is told to have taken place in central Mexico, including the states of Guanajuato and Queretaro. Though the health authorities have many a time said about insufficient evidence of any potential impact of PIP implants, it has been found that there could be a high risk of rupture that could cause inflammation and irritation.
