Bald Barbie To Address Baldness Among Little Girls

A group of women has made a page on Facebook where they have asked the Barbie doll makers to design a bald Barbie. This initiative has been taken to address the problem of young children who suffer from badness or from hair loss due to chemotherapy or hair loss conditions such as alopecia.

The page was put up before Christmas with a name of Beautiful and Bald Barbie! Till now, the page has been able to get 18,000 likes. The women who have created the page said baldness due to whatever reasons has become an issue which needs a quick solution.

Getting bald or facing the problem of hair loss is something which nobody can control and the girls and women, who have to face it, should also not feel insulted as it is not their fault. Little girls getting bald do sounds little strange as one is not used to see them in such a way.

But if kids would see their bets friend Barbie in that role then they would be able to understand the problem and from the next time when they would see a little bald girl. They would not look at her with such an amaze.

One of the women who was actively involved to make the page has affirmed that she got involved in this process as she has underwent this problem. Her daughter is battling with leukemia and during her chemotherapy process she has to remain bald for seven months.

During this period whenever they used to visit any market, people used to stare at her asking that why was she bald in such a little age. This is the reason that she is promoting to have bald Barbie.

“We think [a bald Barbie] would be therapeutic and I think it would help baldness become more quote unquote normal. It would be seen. It wouldn't be this odd thing that people don't have hair”, said she.
